Oh, WHATever.

I'm sorry Louisville. But you might have to learn to pick locks and use hacksaws like the rest of the country.

Rowdy Lesbian-Brand Cupcakes

1. Jen Sorensen is hilarious. (Read 'Santa Claus or Beyonce')

My aunt and uncle came to visit us sometime when I was in high school. My cousin Noah was three and insisted on watching Aladdin at least five times a day. And let me tell you after a couple days of that, your mind starts to go and you find yourself thinking, "You know, that Aladdin character is pretty cute..."
But don't think that the grossness ends there. Daniel was haranging me about getting enough B vitamins a few days ago, reminding me that lack of B vitamins can cause schizophrenia. And I remembered a couple weeks ago when I was holed up in my apartment, not talking to anyone. I rented a season of Futurama and again, started thinking "Frye ... Leela ... hmm."
I started taking my B vitamin supplements again after that.

3. 10 for 29

-Derek at On Your Left and finally finding a decent mechanic
-Stars 'Division'
-Kleerup "History'
-Black Kids "Hit the Heartbrakes'
-Plans for a split with JWoolard, holla! (But intimidating too.)

-Skeleton Royal, who calls me 'Milkyboots' instead of Virginia
+1 Talking to my mom and dad

4. My Apple Care is about to expire. It costs $249. It would be AWESOME if someone could buy this diptych I made, conveniently priced at $250. The photo kind of sucks, but I'm not a photographer. I'm just a girl who does drawings.

5. I did some more tablet drawings. You can see them on my flickr page.

Tablet Does Not Equal Genius.

webcomic63

I became famous this week! Not only was I in Velocity but the new Bejeezus
is out with one of my comics in it. Surely the publishing contracts and marriage proposals will come pouring into my inbox now.
But I should be realistic. That sort of fame brings IOUs and awkward groping.

PS. Will Oldham played a secret show in the post office this morning. He was wearing crocs. Take that, everyone who ditched me and Daniel last night!

PSS. The reason my writing skills are so poor today is Daniel's bad influence on my drinking habit. Or possibly a degenerative brain disease I caught when he was rubbing his gangrene-infected foot on me last night.

More Fort Future...

JWoolard already thinks I'm pretty dirty (see #46) so I'm glad she didn't see me last night.

For those of y'all not from Louisville, LAVA House was a warehouse of artist's studios and performance/party space. It burned down this winter. It is now a large slab of concrete thats good for late night bowling and setting off fireworks.

Guhhhh....

Sorry about the lack of comics ... I'm feeling unmotivated and unfunny. I have been working on Milkyboots #5, however, and it should be done fairly soon.

I ended up with four days off in a row this week. I've been mostly being a homebody, which I need, but still gets kind of lonely and depressing. I don't know what to do with myself; I haven't been enjoying going out to bars and it seems like no one is around anymore. And the people who are here are as depressed as I am.

I'm trying to 'take care of myself.' I can't tell if its working or not. What does it take to feel better anyway?

Blah, blah, blah...boring.

10 for 16

-mango sorbet
-text from Christine that made me cry alittle: "You take care of you...seems life has its own rhythm outside our desires sometimes."
-Borders scam = sketchbook and Pema Chondron book
-Weakerthans "Reunion Tour"
-Kleerup "With Every Heartbeat"
-wallowing
-The Snakepit Book
-iced americanos
-salad: greens, cuke, cherry tomatoes, grated carrot, dulse, flax seeds and a touch of olive oil and balsamic vinegar
-Cory's pool parties

Vinegar with a Hint of Vitriol.

webcomic60

The lesson here is:

A. Don't buy an old steel frame if it doesn't have lugs (
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lugged_steel_frame_construction). Without these babies, the frame isn't worth the $15 you paid the methhead at the corner of Oak and Preston.

B. If you're going to leave tiny annoying papercuts on my poor stupid heart, expect to get shit on in my blog and zine for weeks, even months afterwards (True heartbreak is too good for blogspot.com). I can happily post this knowing 'fire-crotch' will never read this, since I have reverted in status to what I am to most hetero-male scenesters: someone to talk about bikes at. I can't wait til dude needs to use a sewing machine or floor pump and tries to re-friend me.

(I wrote all that last night, when I was feeling considerably more short tempered than I am now. I have a few things:
1. Can someone tell me how to make my http addresses that I paste in here clickable links?
2. Blender is the worst music magazine ever.
3. This grossed me out: I put a picture of Anna breathing fire on my flickr page with a note that said basically, My Fourth of July was awesomer than yours cause I got to see a topless girl breath fire. Well, that picture got 215 hits the day I put it up, more than the rest of my photos combined. So I changed the wording of the description to 'babe breathing fire'. It's gotten 4 hits since. You people are idiots! It's the internet. The porn flows freely and free. You don't need to go trolling flickr for naked pictures of girls.)

Love ya! Have a good weekend!

Well...

Newses:

Atomic Books in Baltimore is going to carry my zine. I don't really know how that effects anyone who reads this blog, other than you will be able to order Milkyboots, the Fart Party and Laura Park minicomics from the same place (which you should).

JWoolard, there are two pictures from your birthday on my flickr page.

I am addicted to Vice Magazine's Dos and Don'ts.

And before I get yelled at for being a Louisville hater, I love this town, I really do, but right now I need a break like OMG ...
Anyone wanna go to Chicago on Sunday?

And speaking of places where I used to live:

Only in Ashland, only in Ashland. Seriously.

Repost!

I had a thought, so I changed the last comic. Here it is, slightly different, but hopefully funnier.

webcomic57.2

But seriously, who could?
